THE FORUM PARTNERS WITH ROME HIGH SCHOOL JR. CIVITAN CLUB FOR RECYCLING PROGRAM
Rome, Ga. – The Forum is proud to announce a new partnership with Rome High’s Jr. Civitan Club on a new recycling venture.
Club members will provide labor during and after events held at The Forum to collect bottles and cans. The collected materials will them be taken to the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center to be recycled. Any funds generated will go back to the club to support the Special Education program at Rome High School, according to Club Director Rochelle Myers.
“The Forum has been recycling cardboard and paper for several months now,” said Brent Poplin, General Manager of The Forum. “We have seen a difference in just recycling those items, which only made us think about ways to recycle other materials – especially during high traffic events. This partnership just made sense and it teaches our youth the importance of preserving this Earth, because it’s the only one we have.”
“Marta Turner, manager of Rome-Floyd Recycle Center, has been working special events in Rome and Floyd County for several years,” said Michael Skeen, Floyd County Public Works Director and father of a Jr. Civitan member. “Even with her efforts, there are numerous opportunities for more recycling at special events at Ridge Ferry Park, the Forum, and youth sports programs. The problem is having people available on the weekend or in the evenings to service the containers, and then to bring the material to the Recycle Center.”

THE FORUM IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE INSTALLATION OF AN ATM IN ITS LOBBY
Rome, Ga. – Coosa Valley Credit Union and The Forum have teamed up in efforts of making patrons of The Forum and Downtown Rome lives a little easier. An automated teller machine (ATM) was recently installed in the lobby.
“We have been hearing requests for years that we needed to have an ATM in our lobby,” said General Manager of The Forum, Brent Poplin. “We were in the midst of researching how to do this when we were contacted by Coosa Valley Credit Union; they had a desire to locate an ATM in the downtown area as well and the rest is history.”
The ATM’s first big event was the Battle of Rome IV and over 50 people attending the event used the machine.
“We expect to have more people use this machine in the near future,” said Poplin. “Even people dining or shopping downtown who don’t want to travel the several blocks to the banks will have access to this ATM.”
Over the years, many requests have been made to bring an ATM because the concession stands and some souvenir stands don’t accept credit or debit cards.
